Great service. Nice and simple ambience. Great drinks and awesome pizza. Highly recommend this establishment. Will definitely dine here again.
While some may think Ava's is pricey, all the food and drinks are of the highest quality. Wilson Oliver makes the best cocktails in NJ and their pizza combinations never disappoint. If you need to think about your wallet before going out to eat, stay home.
I've visited Ava's Kitchen a few times now, and it's always a pleasant experience. The ambiance is one of my favorite things about this spot. It strikes a perfect balance, offering two distinct dining experiences--a romantic, cozy setting in one area and a livelier sports bar vibe in another. It's a great option whether you're out for date night or catching a game with friends. The food has consistently impressed me; every dish I've ordered has been delicious and well-prepared. The staff is friendly and checks in just enough to ensure you're taken care of. That said, I do have one critique--the cocktails. At $15 each, they feel overpriced for what they are. They're not particularly memorable or visually appealing, especially when compared to similar spots in the area offering more creative and exciting drink options. While the beer offerings fit the bar setting, the dining area could really benefit from an elevated cocktail menu. Ladies love a good cocktail, and I'd love to see more options that match the quality of the food and overall experience. Overall, Ava's Kitchen is a cozy and versatile spot with great food, but I'm hoping they up their cocktail game in the future!
I love the rustic modern ambiance of Ava's. Their drinks are so tasty and complex, and their menu is always changing. Their food menu changes seasonally too. The pizzas were good but a little too much of the burnt taste from the brick oven for my liking. Wings had a great flavor but were a little overcooked as well. Service was great in the bar area when we went last week!
Fantastic Pizzas! You can just tell the ingredients were of high quality and it came out so well done. We tried ordering the King Murphy and Scapes. If you're looking for something a little sweet then go with the king Murphy out of these two because it has the hot honey. Scapes is more salty. It'll have that garlicky flavor with herbal overtones. You can't go wrong with both, it's all about preference. Will definitely be back!
Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. At first glance I loved the rustic interior of the restaurant, it sort of made me feel like I was in an old timey saloon. We were seated right away with our reservation. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and the wood fired chicken parm. They use farmer ground flour and you can definitely tell the in quality and flavor of the dough. The pizza was fantastic, served piping hot with an excellent proportion of cheese, sauce and pepperoni. The chicken parm was fantastic, and one of the best I've had (it's one of my favorite meals!). The menu is so great I hope to come back for more one day!
For a Friday evening it was packed when I first arrived but I was able to sit at the bar with no issues. The staff was super attentive from the minute I sat down, until the minute I left. When I initially ordered my drink, the bartender asked if I was open to something else, to which I said sure and let him know I was looking for something on the sweeter side. Let me tell you, he did not miss a beat! This was probably one of the best drinks I've had in a while and it hit every single note of perfection. I'm definitely coming back!
Such a great neighborhood gem. It looks like an average sport's bar when you first walk in, but it's actually a culinary delight with spectacular cocktails and delectable dishes. The two side rooms offer more peace and quiet, while the front room is where the action is. Service is always prompt and friendly. I have not had a bad dish here yet, even the grilled bread is delicious. Can't wait for my next visit.
5 stars for comfort food and 5 separate stars for their cocktails! I've been here for a quick drink or two at the bar - when Oliver is behind the counter and our go to has always been the Goomba. Light citrusy and crisp! We have been here for lunch today and our friends who are regulars here have raved about their wood-fired thin crust pizza (1986) and just their food in general. We had the saucy sauce which is a pasta dish with fork tender pork and tart marinara sauce. French toast was amazing- yes, it's only French toast but it's great French toast. Burger was a hit. Pepperoni pizza and bacon pizza were hits as well. Their pizza crust shines through - perfectly charred and crisp! We also had their calamari appetizer which came with slivers of zucchini-- amazing. Would order this again- crisp and perfectly seasoned and cooked! Service is friendly fast and efficient. Ambience is rustic, casual and comfortable. Parking lot on the side of the resto and street parking. A great establishment in central Jersey!
This place is great! Went here on a Friday night with some friends and was pleasantly surprised with how quick the service was and how delicious the food was. Highly recommend getting the pizza. The king Murphy and the Apple were top favorites of the table. Also love the fried artichokes and the salad. Have to end the meal with the bread pudding of course! 10/10 - definitely want to come back on a Sunday as it looks like they have a ton of food and drink specials.
